Dear Reader,
This will be just a short update tonight. I thought those who get this before church might like to be able to share the news about district names.

ANNUAL CONFERENCE NEWS
Districts Select Names
When names are read tomorrow for appointment to local churches, they will be done in the new four district structure approved by the Annual Conference. Today, in district meetings, the four new areas selected the names that will be used July first when the new configuration becomes effective.
Rev. Peg Lofsvold will be the superintendant of the Cascadia District, spanning from Astoria through the central Willamette Valley, over the Cascade Mountains and east into Central Oregon. There will be 50 churches in the Cascadia District.
Rev. Lowell Greathouse will be superintendent of the Columbia District, encompassing 52 churches in the Portland area and up the Columbia River Gorge.
Rev. Gwen Drake will be superintendant of the Crater Lake District. This district includes the Southwest and South Central portion of Oregon, including the famous Crater Lake.
Rev. Kim Fields will be superintendant of the Sage District. Sage will join 56 churches in the high deserts and mountains of Eastern Oregon and Southern Idaho.
