United Methodist Retirement Center
Founded in 1909, the United Methodist Retirement Center has earned and enjoyed a reputation throughout its existence for providing high quality, innovative housing and services to low and moderate income elderly. Open to all, the United Methodist Retirement Center is committed to providing a life-affirming community, through end of life, by providing high-quality and affordable housing and support services, in an atmosphere where residents, children and staff become an extension of family and each person’s dignity, worth and choice are respected. Current programs include a 75 apartment retirement center which is assisted by HUD funds (HUD 202/Sect. 8) known as Jason Lee Manor, which serves those of low and very low income; Willson House Residential Care Facility has 50 apartments which are licensed by the State of Oregon's Senior and Disabled Services Division. Similar to assisted living facilities, Willson House serves mostly frail seniors, and making the Center truly unique is the addition of the Willson House Child Development Center which is licensed for up to 32 children at any given time. Children 2 1/2 through 5 years of age spend weekdays at the Center and provide many opportunities for intergenerational involvement.
