I recently had the opportunity to do some concentrated teaching. One experience was in the traditional classroom teaching Course of Study students, and the other experience was a completely online course for Master of Divinity students. Being “old school,” I was very much at home in the classroom, but I found it quite a challenge to do a totally online course where I never saw the students in person. Mastering the complexities of a fairly sophisticated online educational platform was not easy for me, and I had to rely on expertize from the technology staff person on a regular basis.However, the teaching component was an absolute joy. Working with the students, and opening up new vistas of ministry for them is truly rewarding.
