One of the critical differences between our postmodern life and the past is the speed at which we live. Everything is faster and more activity filled. It is taking a toll on our physical and emotional selves. Even in my own lifetime, I can remember weekends as a time when things slowed down and the enjoyment of family activities were the central focus.
