Annual Conference is months away!

2/20/2015
The Oregon – Idaho Annual Conference will begin Thursday, June 11, 2015 in Salem Oregon. For some of us, that’s a lifetime away. For others, it’s like a nap on the couch.

I’d like to share some information you can use now and give you a heads-up on when to seek other information.

If you’re planning to submit an application to present a Laity Workshop,pPlease notice, the deadline for returning applications is March 6, 2015.

Are you interested in learning more about being a General Conference/Jurisdictional Conference lay delegate? You can download Information about the responsibilities of lay delegates and the laity profile form. If the delegate profile is returned by May 1, 2015, we'll share the profile electronically with the lay members to AC - the voters. Nominations are accepted from the floor, as well, but time would limit information dissemination.

Many times, it's the second year at Annual Conference when we think, "I need a mentor!" Information about being a mentor and about having a mentor, no matter how many times you've been to conference, will be in the registration materials for Annual Conference. When you're completing your registration form, watch for the box to check for having or being a mentor. We'll match you up and send email introductions! If you get to Annual Conference and then realize you need a mentor, please, find me! There are so many awesome men and women willing help you find your way while developing new friendships. Often, mentoring and being mentored folks meet at the Annual Conference Orientation. What, you say?

The Annual Conference Orientation is 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 10th. Our goal is to take some of the mystery out of Annual Conference and prepare you for an amazing experience. We'll discuss the Legislative Assembly, voting, being a Page, being an Equalization Member, what is "plenary", where's the bookstore, when do we eat and lots more. Rev. Warren Light and I will offer information and gladly answer your questions.

There will be lots more information as Annual Conference draws near. We're happy to demystify this experience! Questions? Please ask! And check out
