Inspiring Generosity: A “Lisa Simpson” e-Book
By the time you read this, I will be on the road to Boise, Idaho. Yes, eight hours in a Prius going along the Oregon Trail, I will as I usually do, be thinking about those awesome pioneers and wondering just how the heck they made it through the desert and over the Cascade Range. Were they grateful when they made it to their version of the Promised Land? You bet they were.
And I will be grateful too to be with over 500 Oregon and Idaho United Methodists as we do the business of our Annual Conference, worship together, and celebrate the hard work and spiritual dedication of newly ordained clergy men and women on Saturday night.
As you can see, this is a short edition of “Inspiring Generosity.” But – here’s some additional reading for you. Network for Good has an excellent e-book – Lisa Simpson for Non-Profits: What Science Can Teach Us About Fundraising, Marketing, and Social Change. (You'll find it half way down the screen) It’s a quick read and you can translate the word “non-profit” for “church.” I promise there’s at least one idea that you’ll be able to implement with your congregation.
Boise or bust. See you there?
