Day 7: Fun and Rest
Tonight I ask for prayers for those going to be on a plane early tomorrow. Some of us have things they need to do back on that side of the country, and will be flying home. They leave the convention center at 6:40 a.m. Prayers that they have a restful night and safe travels.
Tonight will be a short post. I promised that I would have one every night but I really don’t have much to say. I did have lunch with people from outside my delegation, it was with some of the young people that went on the beach trip. The trip was great fun, and the beaches on the gulf coast are much, much different than the beaches back in Oregon. The sand is whiter and finer, the water is saltier and WARMER. Being in the water was amazing. And of course being a “pasty white boy” (quote from David Armstrong) I burned quite a bit on my shoulders. I did, however, use a lot of sunscreen, and properly. I guess the sun is just stronger here or something. But the trip really was amazing, fun, and relaxing.
We also had an extra plenary session tonight for celebration of ministries. It was supposed to be from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. It was still going when I stopped it and went back to the house I am staying in. I left at 10:05pm and streamed it live until 10:50. The celebrating was great and it highlighted some of the best ministries we have. It gave inspiration for the church and the connection.
Anyway I am headed to bed now, considerably earlier than last night. I am hoping to get a well-rested start to week 2 of General Conference.
