Salem First UMC joins with Trinity UMC, Morningside UMC, Keizer-Clear Lake UMC and West Salem UMC to form the Open Door Churches: United Methodists of Salem-Keizer cooperative.  Pastors are appointed to the Open Door Churches cooperative rather than one church and serve the whole cooperative.  In addition to these five churches, Open Door Churches is participating in a new Hispanic Ministry mission in Salem, Las Naciones and a Salem Native American Fellowship.
