Former Oregon scholar publishes book on St. Paul


Dr. Charles Anderson,, former Oregon resident, has published a new book on the Apostle Paul. A graduate of Willamette University and Union Theological Seminary Dr. Anderson is Associate Professor Emeritus at University of British Columbia. Anderson spent his career teaching in the Vancouver School of Theology. His book is entitled "St. Paul for the Perplexed: His Life, His Letters." He seeks to refute common stereotypes about Paul. He writes: "The conventional view of Paul as an advocate of patriarchy, uncritical subservience to government and condemnation of non-heterosexual gender identities is not supported by his own authentic writings, only by appeal to later forgeries attributed to him.
