The Columbia District Church Extension Society (CDCES) oversees financial investments and provides grants and loans for United Methodist churches and ministries in the Columbia District. The Administrative Assistant organizes the agenda and necessary documents for the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors, records the minutes, and executes communications between churches and the Board of Directors. The position is hired as an independent contractor. (Estimated time commitment is 5-10 hours per month.) Essential Job Functions Receive grants/loans applications, organize them, and disburse them to the grants and loans committee. Arrange venue or location of monthly meetings. Take minutes for Grants and Loans committee meeting (30 minute meeting before the Board of Directors meeting). Take minutes for the Board of Directors meeting. Post minutes to the CDCES website. Work closely with President of the CDCES to create the agenda for meetings. Communicate outcomes of meetings to churches. Receive updates from recipients of loans and grants. Update by-laws and applications on the CDCES website as the Board decides. Report board membership to the Annual Conference. Serve as custodian for all CDCES files.
