Lake Oswego United Methodist Church Position Description Position Title: Tech Coordinator Status: Non-exempt Reports To: Communications Director FTE: .30 (10-12 hours/week) Revision Date: August 2021 General Description: Lake Oswego United Methodist Church (LOUMC) position descriptions are guidelines. They are not intended to identify every task that an employee will be asked to complete. This includes setting up technology each Sunday morning at approximately 8:00am and working until 11:30 or 12:00 pm to cover both worship services, attending Thursday afternoon band rehearsals from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, and accommodating flexible hours during the week (generally Wednesday or later) for setting up the service slides for the livestream and audience screens, setting up YouTubeLive and posting to the Website, training and scheduling volunteers and trouble-shooting technical issues. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: · Handle all audio/visual technical issues related to Sunday Worship and special events (funerals, weddings, community events) utilizing hardware and software owned by LOUMC. · Train, create and maintain a schedule of LOUMC volunteers who will assist in running the audio/visual equipment each Sunday and Thursday. · Work in cooperation with Pro Sound & Light, an outside vendor to repair or upgrade equipment. · Work closely with the LOUMC Communications Director to assure coverage for all events and provide links to scheduled livestreams for use in the Sunday QuickNews. · Work closely with LOUMC volunteers to troubleshoot network problems. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: ? Demonstrate a professional demeanor with the ability to communicate effectively in person and by phone, email or text. ? Demonstrate proficiency using all audio/visual equipment related to live performance and streaming. ? Perform all responsibilities with dedication and a minimum of supervision. ? Demonstrate ability to adjust to varying work needs. ? Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality; exercise discretion and sensitivity when dealing with any confidential church and personnel information. Core Value Requirements: ? Education and Experience Requirements: · Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; or · 3 years’ experience as an audio/visual technician running live streaming; preferably working with a non-profit or church environment. Work Environment: Work is performed in a Church environment, which may include community events, and/or at other locations as deemed necessary. Position requires ability to sit for extended periods as well as stand occasionally. Position may require accessing locations by use of stairs. The position is based in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
