Position Description
Office Manager and Building Use Coordinator. Responsible for managing the church office, coordinating building use for church and outside groups, updating church databases, and providing assistance to pastor and members. Non-exempt, part-time, hourly employment, 20 hours per week, over 3-4 days during the work week.

Specific job functions

  • Provide administrative support to the Pastor
  • Produce print publications including weekly bulletins, announcements, flyers, seasonal program guides, memorial bulletins and other printed materials (most will be delivered primarily via email during current work climate
  • Prepare and update PowerPoint pages for worship
  • Monitor communications, such as church phone, email, and postal mail
  • Greet visitors
  • Manage building use requests, including inquiries, building tours, reservations, key check-out, payment collection/tracking, and updates to annual agreements for long-term use
  • Prepare church newsletter
  • Maintain calendar of church events and building use and schedule pastor appointments
  • Update website
  • Maintain and update member database
  • Organize and stock church office

Minimum Qualifications
  • Good character and commitment to own moral and spiritual development P
  • Prior office experience
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, organize and prioritize varied tasks
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong computer skills (we primarily use Google docs, and church specific software Servant Keeper
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading
  • Ability to work with diverse groups, to keep an open mind, and to treat all people with fairness, dignity and kindness
  • Willingness to learn church database, website CMS, and desktop publishing software

  • $16 per hour, flexible work schedule, paid vacation, flexible sick leave

Additional information
Due to COVID restrictions, we are still operating with a mostly closed building. The work of the church continues, but most staff work primarily from home. These home hours are flexible, but do require a few deadlines and specific meetings, including one evening a month and one set check in meeting with pastor weekly during daytime hours. As COVID restrictions lift, more and more work will be done in the building. But, we take health and safety very seriously. To this end, an internet connection from home is required.
