Listening with Open Hearts: Building Bridges and Deepening Relationships.

Listening with Open Hearts: Building Bridges and Deepening Relationships is an event co-sponsored by the Oregon-Idaho Conference and the Love Your Neighbor Coalition. Invited guests from United Methodist Central Conferences and US Jurisdictions are joining to talk about the issues of doing ministry in central conference contexts.

Ten central conference participants and thirty from US jurisdictions will gather to talk about the social issue that matter to the churches outside the United States.

Progressive leaders in the United States are inviting central conference members to this conversation to look at the social justice changes the exist across the denomination - in all areas, in all places, to all people.

The event will work with facilitators to create an awareness of cultural differences and build an environment of intentional listening to deepen understanding and relationships. It is hoped that these relationships can help to further dialog and unity across the denomination through a better understanding of our social justice needs and heritage.
