Lydia Henry

The Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference Safe Sanctuary Team invites you for a time of digging deeper into building a culture of safety in your church or ministry setting. We will cover:
  • the basics of why Safe Sanctuary practices are necessary and important and the foundational practices to keep people safe
  • an intermediate level conversation of dynamics and philosophy of creating an abuse-resistant culture in your congregation
  • and an opportunity to ask the "hard questions" around people at risk of harm and people at risk of committing harm, the balance between the logistics of safety and predator alertness and the distinction between abuse and behaviors which might lead to abuse.
Our time together will include presentation by speakers, break-out room discussions, and a time of Q&A on each presentation. A lunch break will be included in the schedule.

Panelists will include:
  • Rev. Warren Light
  • Mel Phillips
  • Patrick Lemmon
  • Dr. LaVerne Lewis
See more information on speakers below

This event is free, and supports leaders and volunteers in local churches to meet their responsibilities under the Annual Conference's Safe Sanctuaries policy.
