General Conference
The General Conference is the United Methodist denomination's top law-making assembly. It usually meets every four years and is the body that decides the mission, direction, budget, and positions of the United Methodist Church across the globe. Every annual conference is represented by delegates. The leaders above were elected at the 2019 Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference to serve at the 2020 General and Jurisdictional Conferences.
Covid pandemic caused postponement
The 2020 called Conference which was to be held be held in St. Paul, Minnesota, May 5-15, was postponed due to the Covid pandemic. The new tentative date is August 29-Seotember 6, 2022.
Jurisdictional Conference
The next Jurisdictional Conference of the of the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church (whch includes the Oregon-Idaho Conference) is tentatively scheduled for November 13, 2021 as an online meeting. See the Western Jurisdiction website for announcements.
The five US Jurisdictional Conferences are scheduled to meet Nov. 2-4, 2022. As Pandemic restrictions change frequently, be sure to confirm these dates.
