General Conference meets every four years and is the body that decides the mission, direction, budget, and positions of the United Methodist Church across the Globe. Every annual conference is represented by delegates. This year Oregon-Idaho will have two delegates among the 864 assigned positions. This connection page is a place to connect not only to the whole of General Conference, but also to the Oregon-Idaho perspective. General Conference will be held in Portland, Oregon, May 10-20, 2016 at the Oregon Convention Center.

The Jurisdictional Conference of the of the Western Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church will begin on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona. Before the conference, committees on nomination and episcopacy will meet to do preparation work.
Jurisdictional Conference will be looking at the future of the conference, electing a new bishop, nominating and electing leaders to general and jurisdictional agencies, and ratifying the assignment of bishops to the episcopal areas.
Bishop Warner Brown will also be celebrated as he retires from active ministry.
