Starting October 15, local volunteer Steve Matthews will be traveling through Oregon and Idaho to pick up supplies to deliver to the United Methodist Committee on Relief west depot in Salt Lake City. Corvallis First United Methodist Church pastor Barbara Nixon was one of three clergy from different faiths arrested outside of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement office building in Portland during a peaceful protest on Tuesday.
