Sharing the Gift of Life: An Advocacy Opportunity

It just so happened (which is a another way of saying, God showed up today!) that on April 12th the Cascadia District office shared the MICAH building in Salem with a Food for All Advocacy Day event.  DS Wendy got to meet folks from the organizations which are backing a bill before the Oregon Legislature to extend food assistance to more than 62,000 Oregonians facing hunger, Senate Bill 610 "Food for All Oregonians."

See DS Wendy's conversation with Aldo Solano, Strategic Partnerships Manager at the Oregon Food Bank, today about the Food for All Oregonians effort:

Resources to participate in this effort: This effort is another way to participate in Cascadia District's Eastertide project of Sharing the Gift of Life by supporting local food banks through cash donations and toilet paper donations. The collection period will be during Eastertide, which is from now until Pentecost on May 28th.  We have a goal of 4,000 rolls of toilet paper!  If the goal is reached, DS Wendy will do something dramatic with her hair to be viewed at the AC Session in Meridian, Idaho in June.
