Lois Corl, widow of retired pastor Sidney Corl, died February 5, 2016.  She is survived by daughters, Cydney Hill, Cathleen Wollen and Keri Weiland and sons, Calvin & Keith Corl. Lois was preceded in death by her son, Christopher.
 
Reverend Corl served Hingham Iverness-Krem, Polson, Lake County Youth Home, Ministry to Society and Billings First in the Yellowstone Conference; Rainer and Portland: West Portland in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. He retired in 1994.
 
A memorial service was held earlier.

Hazel Balcomb, widow of retired pastor Ray Balcomb, died January 29, 2016.  She is survived by four children: Bernice Lincicum , Rosemary Schulte, Gene Balcomb and Scott Balcomb; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Hazel was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Balcomb.
 
Reverend Balcomb served churches in Massachusetts as a student; Portland: Sellwood, Medford, Corvallis, Portland: First and as the Metro District Superintendent in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. He retired in 1988.

Barbara Ledden, wife of retired pastor Robert Ledden, died January 22, 2016.  She is survived by her husband, Bob, four children: Sue Ann Strong, Deborah Strong, Cynthia Harris and Marc Strong; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter Terry and a son Robert.
 
Reverend Ledden served Peninsula-Seaford, Perryville-Asbury in West New York-Marilla Conference; Stevenson, Orofino-Cavendish in the Pacific Northwest Conference; Zwolle-Converse-Noble in the Louisiana Conference; Aberdeen/American Falls, Coquille, John Day/Prairie City, Odell/Pine Grove, Cave Junction/Wilderville in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. He retired in 1999. He served Falls City and Grande Ronde in retirement.

Mary Jo Uecker, widow of retired pastor Lloyd Uecker died December 11, 2015.  She is survived by her sons Jeffry and Joel; and two grand-daughters.
 
During their marriage, Mary Jo supported Lloyd in his ministry at Pomona in the California-Pacific Conference; Spokane First in the Pacific Northwest Conference; Salem Englewood, Portland: Ladd, Portland: Greater, Portland: Tabor, Tabor Heights, Medford and Forest Grove  in the Oregon – Idaho Conference before his retirement in 1986.

During their marriage, Gladys supported Don in his ministry at Metzger, St. Helens, Silverton, Cedar Mill: Christ, Forest Grove, Montavilla and Epworth in the Oregon – Idaho Conference before his retirement in 1989. In addition, Gladys worked at the Conference Office from 1978-1989 as Director of the Media Center.

June Smith, wife of retired pastor James Smith, died on September 27, 2014. She is survived by her husband; daughter Roxann; two grandchildren and one great grandchild. June was preceded in death by two sons, Bryan and Roger.
 
Reverend and Mrs. Smith served Roxbury in the Kansas West Conference; Waldwick Circuit in the Wisconsin Conference; Willamina/Grande Ronde, Lake Oswego, Portland: Patton Central, Portland: Rose City Park, Idaho Falls: St. Pauls and Oregon City in the Oregon-Idaho Annual Conference. He retired in 1985.

Bishop Jack M. Tuell, retired Bishop, pastor and beloved spouse of Marjorie Beadles Tuell, died on January 10, 2014. He is survived by Marji at: 816 S. 216th St #637, Des Moines, WA 98198. He is also survived by their three children: Jacqueline T. Joday of Chippewa Falls, WI; Cynthia D. Tuell of Upland, CA; and James Knowles-Tuell of Delmar, New York.

Ordained in the PNW Conference, Reverend Jack and Marji Tuell served the Pacific Northwest Conference at Everett: Grace; Tacoma: Lakewood; as Puget Sound District Superintendent; and Vancouver: First. In 1972, Rev. Jack Tuell was elected Bishop and assigned to the Portland Episcopal Area from 1972 - 1980, followed by the Los Angeles Episcopal Area from 1980-1992. He retired in 1992 after many years of service.

There will be two services to celebrate the life and ministry of Bishop Jack M. Tuell:

  • Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. in the Wesley Terrace Auditorium, located on the campus of Wesley Homes, 816 South 216th St., Des Moines, WA 98198. Pastor and Mrs. Richards served Grove UMC in the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference and Basking Ridge UMC in the Northern New Jersey Conference. Reverend Richards also served as Associate Professor at Drew University.
