Clarissa (Curty) Nichols                  May 2, 1923 - March 14, 2011

This is to notify you of the death Clarissa Nichols on Monday March 14th, 2011. Curty was the wife of Rev. Elliot Nichols who served the Elgin United Methodist Church before retiring in 1988.

A private service was held Monday March 21st at the Remond United Methodist Church. A memorial will be held at Dallas United Methodist Church later in the spring.

Curty is survived by her husband Nick; four children, Janice McLemore, Larry Nichols, Kent Nichols and Brian Nichols; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers a donation in Curty’s name to their local hospice.

This is to notify you of the death of Carolyn Reynolds on Sunday, March 13, 2011. Carolyn was the wife of Robert Reynolds, retired local pastor who served the Dundee church in Oregon-Idaho Conference before retiring in 1996.

A service will be held Tuesday March 15 at India Hook United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Allen, George

George Allen           August 14, 1919 - March 6, 2011

Rev. George Allen died Sunday, March 6, 2011. Rev. Allen was a member of the Oregon-Idaho Conference and served churches in the New Jersey Conference and at Shoshone, Ashton, Gooding, Shelley, Dufur, Tygh Valley, Blackfoot and Talent and as the chaplain of the Oregon State Hospital before retiring in 1984.
A service will be held Saturday March 12 at 3:00pm, at the Willamette Lutheran Home 7693 Wheatland Road, N, Keizer OR..
Rev. Allen is survived by children Laurence Allen, Mea Allen and Rebecca Bauen, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife Lois and daughter Adele.

Peters, Jerry

Jerry Peters                               July 7, 1947 - March 5, 2011

This is to notify you of the death of Rev. Jerry Peters on Saturday March 5, 2011. Rev. Peters was a member of the Oregon-Idaho Conference and served churches in Grand Ronde, Warrenton, Elgin, Wallowa, Dillard-Winston, Camas Valley, Union, Cove, North Powder, Buhl and Castleford.

A service will be held Friday, March 18th at 2:00 p.m., at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland. A celebration of Rev. Peters' life will be held at the Elgin United Methodist Church at a later time.

Albertson, Evelyn "Sally"

Evelyn Albertson October 27, 1916 – February 24, 2011

This is to notify you of the death of Evelyn Albertson on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Evelyn was the widow of the late Rev. Cyrus Albertson who was a member of the Oregon-Idaho Conference and served as a Chaplain US Navy Reserve also Ferndale, Hillsboro, Salem First and Gresham churches. He was District Superintendent from 1964-1970 before retiring in 1985.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday March 12th 2:00pm, at the Christ United Methodist Church 12755 NW Dogwood St. Portland, OR 503-646-1598.

Evelyn is survived by five children: Kathleen Warnaca, Marjorie Arvidson, Ronald Albertson and Holly Albertson and 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Marilyn Neu.

Mrs. Mildred Miller died Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Mrs. Miller was the wife of Rev. James Miller, a member of the Oregon-Idaho Conference who served at Bates College, Otterbein College and Pacific University before retiring in 1985.
A service will be held Saturday, March 19 at 1pm at the Shalom United Church of Christ in Richland, Washington.

Mrs. Miller is survived by her husband Rev. James Miller, daughters Rachel Reeder and Marillyn Neely and two grandchildren.

This is to notify you of the death of Edith Emerson on Sunday, January 16, 2011. Edith was the widow of Rev. George Emerson who served churches in Capitol Hill, McMinnville, Metropolitan Trinity and Junction City and as the Portland Western District Superintendent before retiring in 1981. The Emersons also served churches in England.
A memorial service was held February 5, 2011 at Finley-Sunset Hills.

This is to notify you of the death of Dorven “Dee” Crooch on Thursday, November 25th, 2010. Dee was the spouse of the Rev. Karen Crooch who is a member of the Oregon-Idaho Conference and served churches in University Park, Grants Pass, Salem - Morningside and as the Western District Superintendent before retiring in 2007. Dee also worked at the Conference Center as a Database Administrator. A service was held Monday November 29th at the Morningside United Methodist Church in Salem, Oregon.
