Carol J. Thompson September 5, 1943 – September 11, 2019
Retired Pastor, Reverend Carol J. Thompson, died on September 11, 2019 in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Carol is survived by her daughter, Alysia Downs. She had 1 grandson, Weston.
Reverend Thompson served at the Nooksack Indian UMC in the Pacific Northwest Conference. She served at Monroe, Lyons, New Meadows, Filer/Jerome, and Florence UMCs in the Oregon-Idaho Conference. She served as Executive Director of the Western Small Church and Rural Life Center in Filer, Idaho, and was on the faculty of the Northwest House of Theological Studies in Salem, OR. She served as Executive Director for Town and Country Ministries of the General Board of Global Ministries in New York. Carol retired in 2013.
Private family services will be held in Hawaii. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held in Oregon sometime next spring; details at a later date.
