Plagiarism
The Board of Ordained Ministry and its district committees take seriously the issue of plagiarism. The Board asks all candidates to become familiar with its plagiarism policy, which can be downloaded here. The policy clearly defines plagiarism and also gives tips for avoiding it.
Through the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, Oregon-Idaho's BOM subscribes to a plagiarism detection tool called iThenticate. Candidates who submit written materials to either their district committee on ordained ministry or to the BOM will have the opportunity to run their paperwork through the iThenticate software and then correct any problems with improper citations or use of published materials before submitting it to the DCOM or BOM.
Please be in touch with the Board's Administrative Coordinator with any questions about the process or the policy.
