Paragraph 357 of the 2016 Book of Discipline contains complete information about clergy retirement status and procedures, including the requirement that "requests for retirement shall be stated in writing to the bishop, cabinet, and Board of Ordained Ministry at least one hundred and twenty days prior to the date on which retirement is to be effective."
To apply to the BOM for retirement, complete this form and email it to the Board (bom@umoi.org).You will be interviewed by at least two members of the Board before the BOM votes whether to recommend your retirement to the Clergy Session.
