Fall 2013 Training Event--From Gutenberg to Google: Social Media in the Local Church

This learning opportunity will be taught by Rev. Jeremy Smith (Minister of Discipleship at Portland First UMC) and friends. The seminars will include an introduction to guiding elements about using social media, a look at various social media sites to consider using in ministry, information on boundaries and minefields, new ways to use social media in the local church, and how to be effective missionaries working in a social media culture. The seminars will be offered four times in four different locations:

•  Wednesday, October 9th from 7 to 9PM at Portland First UMC
•  Saturday, October 12th from 9:30 to 11:30 AM at Christ UMC
•  Wednesday, October 16th from 2 to 4PM at The Dalles
•  Thursday, October 17th from 7 to 9PM at Tabor Heights UMC
