Youth at Annual Conference

The Annual Conference session provides a number of ways for youth to connect to the life of the greater church. From supporting the meeting as a page, to being a voting member of the Annual Conference, youth are integral to our church's life together.

Pages

If you are currently in grade 9-12 you can apply to be a page. Pages are youth who are friendly, reliable, and love to serve others. Pages are a vital  part of the Annual Conference sessions, helping to get information to members exactly when it’s needed. Pages will get to see how Annual Conference works, and worship, learn, and play with youth from all over Oregon and Idaho.

Rev. Dan Benson (pictured on the far right in the cowboy hat) is the Page Coordinator and Floor Manager at the Annual Conference session. He is known for his big heart and sense of humor. He enjoys teaching the Pages their duties and hangs out with them during the plenary (business) sessions. Contact him at director@collinsretreatcenter.org

Apply to be a Page at Annual Conference June 13-16, 2018.

Youth Members

Youth Members to Annual Conference are high school-aged young people who are full voting members. They are valued for their fresh voices, perspectives, and creative suggestions. They are nominated by their pastors and chosen by their district leadership to serve on a year by year basis. Lodging and meal expenses at the Annual Conference are paid by the conference. Youth interested in serving in this leadership role should contact their pastor for more information.

Young Adult Members

Young adult equalization members (18-30 yrs old) are nominated to serve for a term of four years as a full voting member. If their circumstances change and they cannot complete the quadrennium, replacements are sought. Lodging and meal expenses at the Annual Conference session are reimbursed after the conference. For more information on serving as a Young Adult Member, contact your pastor or district office.

Pages and Youth Members must register online by May 29.

The Youth Coordinators act as chaperones and stay in a separate room near the youth rooms. Safe sanctuary rules are followed. A covenant agreement is provided for the youth to sign before they arrive. The Youth Coordinators help make the room assignments. The Youth Members and Pages often enjoy meals and snacks together and are encouraged to attend their District meal at The Riverside Hotel. See the Conference Schedule and registration form for more details.
